  • 28 oz can San Marzano tomatoes, crushed by hand
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onions, carrots, and celery; cook until softened.
  2. Stir in minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.

  4. Pour in red wine, deglazing the pot while scraping up any bits stuck to the bottom.
  5. Stir in crushed tomatoes along with oregano and basil; bring to a simmer.
